Graduate Programs in Health and Behavioral Science
College of Health and Behavioral Science
The College of Health & Behavioral Sciences offers the following degrees to meet the diversified mental health needs of the region:
Master of Counseling Psychology (M.S.): Licensed Professional Counselor – Students with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology or who meet the program’s prerequisites. Upon successful completion of the degree requirements, students are eligible to sit for the Licensed Professional Counselor’s exam (LPC).
Master of Counseling Psychology (M.S.): Certified School Counselor – Students with a bachelor’s degree who have completed two (2) years of public school teaching and passed the TEXES exam are eligible for this program. Upon successful completion of the degree, the students may apply to the Texas State Board for Teacher Certification to be certified as a School Counselor.
Master of Interdisciplinary Studies (M.S.I.S.): Criminal Justice or Psychology Emphasis: This degree is designed for students with a bachelor’s degree who have a wide range of interests & who wish to pursue a graduate degree with an interdisciplinary focus. Twelve to eighteen (12-18) hours of credit is taken in the area of concentration together with 6-12 hours in two other fields. A comprehensive written exam is taken prior to graduation.

Graduate Programs in Business at A&M-Texarkana
The College of Business offers three graduate business degrees to enable students to better meet the diversified demands placed upon business professionals.
Master of Business Administration (MBA): Students with a bachelors degree in Business, or who meet the prerequisite requirements, are eligible for this program। The MBA offers a comprehensive set of business courses designed to enhance students’ abilities to manage multi-functional business units.
Master of Science in Business Administration (MSBA): This degree allows students with non-business bachelors degrees to begin a masters level program with no prerequisites। The MSBA offers students a non-financial managerial approach to graduate business education.
Master of Science in Accounting (MSA): Students with either an accounting undergraduate degree or who have taken 27 hours of specific accounting courses are eligible to apply to this program। Primarily (but not exclusively) for public accountants, this program is a popular option for those desiring the CPA designation.

Graduate Programs in Arts & Sciences and Education at A&M-Texarkana
The College of Arts & Sciences and Education offers a variety of graduate programs for those desiring further education for professional or personal reasons.
- Master of Arts in English – Allows student to focus on course work in literature. Graduates are eligible to teach dual credit high courses or community college.
- Master of Science in History – Graduates are eligible to teach dual credit high courses or community college. Provides a solid foundation for those who wish to pursue a Ph.D. in History.
- Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies – This degree allows students to pursue their general education at the graduate level.
- Master of Science in Adult Education – Graduates are prepared for careers in which they work with other adults in a teaching/training capacity.
- Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction – Prepares teachers who are fully certified to become master-level teachers.
- Master of Education in Special Education – Students may major in special education or test to become certified educational diagnosticians.
- Master of Education in Educational Administration – Graduates may test to be certified as principals or superintendents.
- Master of Science in Instructional Technology – Individuals with this degree are in high demand both in industry and education. Eligible to test for Master Technology Teacher certification.
